So we will be moving in to the new house this weekend! (I can't believe it's finally here!) I have my business licence, registered name, fire inspection, and paperwork all done for the new salon. We hope to have the construction work completed July 1st.
The new name will be The Vintage Comb. I will be able to work more days and times. I will also start carrying product. Please let me know if you have a favorite shampoo, hairspray, gel, etc. so that I can get it stocked for you.
I am really excited to be able to provide better service for my clients! As I have mentioned before, the salon will have its own entrance and be blocked off from the rest of the house. I will have a babysitter to watch my children while I am doing hair so that everyone can have an enjoyable and relaxing time. I would also like to pick up some more clients so please tell your friends, family, and co-workers. Remember you will get $5.00 off your cut or color for each new person you refer. I will also be offering deals with product.
Thanks so much for all your support and patience with the crazy schedule we have had to deal with for so long!

Great News!!

So at long last we found a house! Not only a house but a house we can spend forever in! Hold on....it gets even better. I will have a salon again! The house has a finished basement with its own entrance. With only a few tweaks we will be able to make it into a wonderful/big/nice salon (almost completely separate from the house). We are scheduled to close on it the middle of May. I hope to have the salon up and running before the baby comes (end of June). I don't know how long I will be taking off for maternity leave but I am thinking about 2 weeks. Maybe I will start doing hair again after the July 4th weekend. I plan on working right up until the little bundle of joy arrives, more than likely at the salon I am at now.
I would love to get all of your addresses so I can send out an official announcement of my new salon (along with some coupons). I need to think of a new name to call my salon. I totally need suggestions so please leave a comment.
I will be hiring a babysitter to watch my children while I am doing hair so I can focus more on my clients. I will still have scheduled days but a lot more of them. Please take the survey at the bottom of the page to vote on what days/ times would be best for you. I will be taking the days with the most votes. I would love to expand my working days and get some new clients as well. Please tell your friends, relatives, co-workers anyone you can think of and remember you can still get $5.00 off for each referral you send my way.

New Price List for 2010

The new prices will go into effect on January 1st, 2010.
I have chosen this year to raise my prices for the following reasons:

*I haven't raised my prices in 7 years. When I was working at Panache these were my prices. I lowered them when I moved into my home salon and raised them back to the original when I moved into Urban Roots. So this will be my first price raise in 7 years!

*The price of color, supplies, and equipment has gone up. (it does every year you just haven't seen it reflected in my prices.)

*With having baby number 4 we are going to have to get in to a home before June so that I can continue doing hair when the little bundle of joy arrives. (and yes I will be hiring a babysitter so that I can work uninterrupted! It has been so nice having my 'work' time and 'home' time separate!)

So without any further ado...these are the new prices.

CUTS:

Women's cut and style $30.00
Men's cut and scalp massage $20.00
Kids cut $7.00

COLORS:
all colors will still include a cut and style

Roots ONLY $50.00
All over color $60.00 and up
One color weave $75.00 and up
any additional colors add $5.00 for each color. (so a 2 color weave will be $80.00, 3 colors $85.00)

Please remember long or thick hair may be extra.

Extensions are still available. I can do the beaded (clipped in) and the bonded (glue). Please call and set up a time to get a quote for the prices.

Perms will stay at $50.00

Waxing will also stay the same
eyebrows $10.00
upper lip $8.00

I hope you all understand the need for me to increase my prices. I hope this does not stop you from your continued support. I will be offering a referral special to help out anyone who wants a discount. For every new client you send me I will take $5.00 off your next service (color or cut). So let's say you send in 3 new clients.....that would make your hair cut only $15 (women) or guys you could just pay $5.oo for yours! Just make sure when you send your friends and family in that they let ME know that YOU sent them!
